Memories of The Flame Bar in Ann Arbor

SUMMARY:
Sound clip of on-the-street interview with people remembering a famous gay bar in Ann Arbor called, “The Flame”. At the time, the Washington St. location was closing and the bar was to be relocated.
BACKGROUND:
The Flame was a famous bar in Ann Arbor, having been in operation since 1949. It was originally located at 115 W. Washington Street, between Main and Ashley. Its last night at its Washington street location was in April of 1993. The Flame moved the to 112 W. Liberty Street and permanently closed in 1998.
